Adolf Hitler
*November 8, 1923 - Hitler is sent to jail
Hitler stormed a public meeting amidst 3,000 people saying the revolution had begun and a new government was coming. After twenty deaths, he was sent to jail for a year. While in jail, he wrote Mein Kampf (My Struggle). The book outlined his hopes and Germany. Amongst these hopes was imbedded the exiling of the "subhuman" races and perfecting the "Aryan" race. This was his first book on this subject.
*January 30, 1933 - Adolf Hitler is appointed Germany's Chanceller
Hitler slowly made his way to the position of leader in 1933. He had won the approval of many people, so it wasn't protested by many Germans if any, and if any Jewish people protested they were ignored, being deemed as not as important. With his book already written, it is curious how no one saw the evil he would become and the struggle he would put so many through. Even then, he had already been in jail, but still became Chanceller. This was a big step towards Hitler's main goal, to rid Germany of the Jewish, and this was just the beginning.
*July 14, 1933 - Hitler's Nazis are proclaimed the only political party in Germany.
This was Hitler's tactic to be sure he remained in power. Without the influence of other political parties and powers, the German citizens would only have his influence. This insured that while Hitler focused on the ideas laid out in Mein Kampf, no one would go against him. The Nazis enforced his laws and did his dirty work, chasing the Jews out of Germany during Kristallnacht.
*August 2, 1934 - German President von Hindenburg dies and Hitler becomes Führer.
This was the same situation as when Hitler became Chanceller. No one would protest, because he was already powerful enough to have anyone who did disappear, and also he had many people supporting him who didn't think twice about his actions. He becomes one of the most powerful leaders in history, and because of this he can influence anyone to do his bidding.
*August 9, 1938 - Kristallnacht
100 Jewish German citizens were killed during Kristallnacht. The Night of Broken Glass, the English meaning of the term, was the night that the Nazis attacked anything Jewish-owned like synagogues and sore-fronts. The glass windows were broken. Many things were burned. Poeple were killed. Many of the surviving Jews fled the country to other places like Britain, France and America until those places closed their borders. This was Hitler's first attempt to chase the Jews out.
*August 23, 1939 - Hitler signed the nonaggression pact with Stalin.
The nonaggression pact was an agreement signed between Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin stating that they would not fight one another and that they would split Poland between them. The agreement went directly against the Treaty of Versailles with stated that no secret agreements shall be made.
*September 1, 1939 - Germany Invades Poland
Under the order from Hitler, German forces invaded Poland. This stared World War II and dragged Britain and France, both Allies to Poland. While Hitler was attacking one side, Stalin was attacking the other. Poland soon fell. Hitler then turned his attention to the Allies, calling the Axis powers to help.
*June 22, 1941 - Hitler goes against the nonaggression pact.
Hitler launched Operation Barbosa, attacking the Soviets. Pushing the Soviets almost all the way back, the Germans took most of the Soviet Union. A hard Russian winter hit, and half starved, the Germans were forced to surrender after taking control of almost the whole area. The Battle of Stalingrad was a devastating loss for Hitler.
*April 29, 1945 - Hitler Married Eva Braun
Hitler married his long-time girlfriend Eva Braun in a small ceremony in a bunker. Later that day he heard about the assassination of Benito Mussolini, his Italian ally. Fearing what will happen to them, Hitler and Eva decided on suicide. The Allies were pushing Germany back into Eastern Europe. Germany was losing the war, again.
*April 30, 1945 - Hitler's body is found and burned.
After Hitler and his wife of a day committed suicide, their bodies were found and dragged outside. There the Allies burned the bodies. Usually, the bodies are given back to their respective countries for burial by the family. This was the Allies attempt to get rid of any ideas anyone might have of following in Hitler's footsteps.
